Corrective Exercise Strategies for the Shoulder and Hip Complexes

Shoulder and hip dysfunction are common issues facing today’s clientele. In this interactive session, you will learn how to perform a virtual as well as in-person assessment to identify common postural issues of the shoulder and hip complexes. You’ll then understand how to select the most effective corrective exercises for each client and how to integrate them into their strength training programs.

Learning Objectives


  1. Describe how an individual’s posture and movement habits affect performance and contribute to chronic tightness, discomfort and loss of movement efficiency.
  2. Demonstrate how to assess for common suboptimal postural and movement strategies, whether you are training clients in a virtual or physical environment.
  3. Implement the most effective corrective exercise strategy for improving posture and movement habits.
  4. List the most effective exercise progressions for clients with different levels of conditioning and ability.
  5. Integrate a corrective exercise strategy into a comprehensive, progressive training program to improve posture, movement and performance.
  6. Summarize how implementing a strategy to improve posture and movement correlates to helping an individual accomplish health and fitness goals.
