
Diet Culture: How it Harms Us, How We Can Reject it and What We can Do Instead
Diet culture is a belief system that focuses on and values weight, shape and size over well-being. It can cause damage on the individual and societal level and is interwoven throughout the fitness industry. As fitness professionals, we have the opportunity and responsibility to recognize diet culture, reject it and replace it with tools that allow our clients to form healthy and happy relationships with their own bodies. In this lecture, you will learn how to recognize and challenge aspects of diet culture and discuss concepts to replace this harmful narrative with one that empowers each person you work with, including yourself.
