Welcome to Strong from the Inside Out: Supporting Women in Perimenopause


Perimenopause is a natural, yet often misunderstood phase in a woman’s life that brings physical, emotional, and physiological changes. As fitness and yoga professionals, our role extends beyond movement instruction; we serve as trusted guides through transitions that affect energy, confidence, and overall well-being.


This course was created to provide you with the knowledge, empathy, and evidence-based tools to support women during perimenopause with confidence and compassion. By understanding the science of hormonal change and the art of mindful training, you’ll learn to create inclusive environments where women feel seen, strong, and capable.


Course Rationale:


Although over one billion women will be in menopause globally by 2030, most fitness professionals receive little or no education about this pivotal life stage. This lack of understanding often leads to frustration, misinformation, and missed opportunities for connection and retention in our classes and studios.


Strong from the Inside Out: Supporting Women in Perimenopause bridges that gap by combining exercise science, yoga philosophy, and women’s health research. The course empowers professionals to:


· Recognize how fluctuating hormones influence recovery, body composition, and energy levels.

· Design movement programs that align with physiological and emotional shifts.

· Normalize conversation around perimenopause and reduce stigma.

· Encourage sustainable, compassionate approaches to training and wellness.


Methodology:



This course is grounded in three complementary pillars of learning:


1. Education — Evidence-informed discussions explain the hormonal, physiological, and emotional changes of perimenopause.

2. Application — Practical videos and demonstrations show how to design and cue safe, effective, and empowering movement sequences.

3. Integration — Reflective questions, mindfulness practices, and breathwork techniques help participants embody the material and apply it in real-world coaching environments.


Each module blends scientific understanding with embodied practice; from strength training and yoga therapy to mindfulness and recovery. The approach honors both the body and the mind, aligning with the foundational philosophy of The BodyMind Workout®:


“Strength from the inside out.”

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:


· Identify key physical and emotional changes that occur during perimenopause.

· Apply strength, mobility, and breath-based practices to support hormonal health.

· Communicate with clients using inclusive and empowering language.

· Integrate mindfulness and recovery strategies to improve adherence and quality of life.
